Sandra Kaye Groves

Sandra Kaye Groves of Blanford, IN passed away on January 13, 2025, at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute IN after an extremely brief cancer battle. Sandra was born in Little Rock Arkansas on July 13, 1962, to Jackie and Bea Tipton Groves. She lived the life of a military brat until her father’s retirement from the Air Force. The family then moved to Clinton IN in 1977. She enjoyed traveling with her family and the places they were stationed which included Texas, Montana, Hawaii and Germany. She was a floral designer at Sawyers Flowers in Clinton for many years. Sandra was an artistic soul from an early age. She loved drawing and painting from the start. She later caught the theater bug and continued working in community theater up to her death. She did it all, directing, acting, and background scenery to include set builds. She has a multitude of friends from those endeavors. Sandra attended Marion College, in Indianapolis, from whence she gained numerous lifelong friends. She had a quirky sense of humor that would quite often surprise you. When she started to giggle, it was most infectious. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sisters, Donna Groves, Carla Groves Kent and husband Albert. Her brother Jackie Groves Jr. and wife Joann. Also surviving are her niece Amber Kent Shahheydari and husband Cyrus and her nephew Zachary Kent. As per Sandras request there are to be no services. Cremation was chosen. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
