Rosemary A. Timmons, 69, of Universal and formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, after a courageous battle with heart disease and Multiple Sclerosis. She was born to Ann and Walter Bolek of Chicago, who both preceded her in death. She was raised in the city of Chicago and was very proud of her Polish heritage.
In 1975, she married Robert Timmons from Gary, IN who preceded her in death in 2016. She is survived by her three children, Rose (Jeff) Berg of Aventura, FL, Victor Timmons of Universal, and Michelle Timmons-Hoyt of Chicago, IL. grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Candice, Cassidy, and Cari, great granddaughter Brynleigh, great grandson Easton, brother Walter (Loretta) Bolek or Aurora, IL, brother Donny (Sharon) Bolek of Surprise, AZ, and sister Maryann Gonzalez (late Frank) of Chandler, AZ. She also is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A highly-educated and successful business and career woman; she was employed by JCPenney as a Manager and hair stylist from 1981 to 1992. During this time, she really enjoyed developing her stylists and growing the business and the team. She then moved on from that position to obtain her Bachelor’s and Master degrees from Indiana State University in Spanish Translation. She even traveled to Costa Rica in a student exchange program. Rosemary became an entrepreneur and started her own translation business, Universal Hispanic Translation, and for several years, she assisted both Vigo and Vermillion County Courts with cases until retiring in 2016.
One of her greatest passions was dogs, particularly Alaskan Malamutes. She and her late husband, Bob, rescued several in their lifetime and gave them wonderful lives. She is survived by two beautiful rescues, Sarge, a Malamute, and Rissaa, a Hybrid Wolf who will now be lovingly cared for by her son, Victor. She also loved spending time with her 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Rosemary and her late husband, Bob, loved to visit Wine Country, especially in the St. Louis area and Canada, making the trips at least once a year. They also made frequent visits to Niagara Falls, Washington DC, and Las Vegas. Bob and Rosemary enjoyed weekend trips over the years to see their daughters in Indianapolis and Chicago.
Visitation will be held at Giovanini Funeral Home in Clinton, IN on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Prayer service to take place at 7:30 p.m. with Fr. Varghese Maliakkal officiating. In lieu of flowers, you may also donate to any of the following: American Heart Association, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or The Humane Society, Rosemary’s beloved causes.
