Rose E (Dirker) Curry

Rose E. Curry (95) of Clinton, Indiana passed away February 21, 2023, at 5:57 AM. She was born January
3, 1928, in Clinton to Edward Dirker and Katherine Hass Dirker. Rose graduated from Clinton High
School in the class of 1945. On April 24, 1948, she married Sam Curry who preceded her in death on
March 11, 2014. Rose was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary Alice Dirker, Betty
Baird and Ruth Hinzy, also two brothers Francis Dirker and gene Dirker of Terre Haute. She is survived
by one son, Patrick of San Francisco, CA, her sister-in-law; Margaret Dirker of Nocona, TX; nieces Ann
Butwin (Mike) of Terre Haute, Laura Brashier of Nocona TX; nephew Tony Dirker (Theresa) of Nocona,
TX; Stephen Dirker (Cynthia) of Martinsville, IN; Janis Allen, (Tim) and Carol Baird of Port Angeles, WA;
and several great nieces and nephews, as well as by special friends Amy Smith of Clinton, IN; and life-
long friend Joan Dunlap of Mooresville, NC.
Rose and Sam resided in Littleton, CO from 1967 and returned to Clinton in 1999. Rose was a member
of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for 27 years while residing in Littleton, CO. She was also a member of the
Sacred Heart Women’s Club and a Life Member of the American Auxiliary #140.
Visitation for Rose will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, February 28,
2023, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM with Fr. Joby Puthussery officiating. Burial will
follow in Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute. Friends who desire to make contributions may do so
to Sacred Heart Church
