Ronald Wallace King of Clinton, Indiana passed away, August 13, 2018 at his residence.
Ronald Wallace King was born August 3, 1951, in Hot Springs, SD, to Wallace and Lorraine Bertsch King. He married Marilyn Natalie June 21, 1975. They were blessed with two children, Christopher and Suzanne.
Ron dedicated his life to the service of others. He chose medicine as his vocation. His work in the Navy and at Union Hospital all resulted in better lives for others.
Commander Ronald W. King, NC, served in the US Navy from May 1974 to June 1994. A Gulf War Veteran, he received numerous commendations and awards for his exemplary service.
After military retirement Ron became Director of Surgical Services at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Respected by his employees and colleagues, Ron served as a mentor and role model to many individuals. He retired in 2013.
Ron was remarkable in so many ways. He was never willing to give less than his best. He was committed, dependable and compassionate. Family appreciated his willingness to listen, evaluate, objectively advise, and support them regardless of the situation. His sense of mischievous adventure leaves everyone with treasured memories. He was brave and courageous in his battle with cancer despite the pain he endured. Friends described him as loyal, truthful, dependable, compassionate, dedicated, and loyal. Ron was respected, admired, and loved by all who knew him.
