Richard L Hatke

Richard L Hatke (81) of Rockville and formerly of Stockwell, Indiana passed away at Franciscan Health Lafayette East on January 5, 2024, at 3:30 PM surrounded by his family.  He was born in Lafayette to Ted and Opal Lavering Hatke.  Richard and his wife Jean owned and operated Hatke’s Food Market in Stockwell.  He married Jean Peterson on February 16, 1962.  He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Rockville, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Survivors are his wife, Jean of Rockville.  One son; Keith (Donna) Hatke of Stockwell, Indiana.  One daughter; Karen (Brian) Martin of Darlington, Indiana.  Grandchildren; Tony (Danielle) Laffoon, Bethany (Bret) Laffoon, Hannah (Grant) Laffoon, Max Hatke, Tim (Haley) Coyle, Justin (Courtney) Coyle and Aaron Bahus.  8 great grandchildren.  One sister; Judy (David) Carter of Lafayette, Indiana.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph Church – Rockville with Fr. Joby Puthussery officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Holy Family Hall - St. Joseph Church from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM.  Burial will follow at Yorktown Cemetery in Stockwell, Indiana.
