Philip Chilton (76) of Clinton, Indiana passed away, July 28, 2024, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Born July 23, 1948, in French Lick, Indiana to Paul and Loretta Lorey Chilton.
Phil retired from Bemis in Terre Haute. A U.S Airforce Veteran serving during the Viet Nam War. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Knight of Columbus #9441 where he served as Past Grand Knight and was well known for his Knights of Columbus Spaghetti Sauce. He was a valued member of the Knights of Columbus where he worked for many years with Friday Night Bingo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Beverly Allen, his brothers-in-law; Jack Allen, Jerry Miller and Chuck Vitalie, and one grandson; Dillion Killion. He is survived by his wife Terry Thomas Chilton of Clinton. Three sons; Paul (Lisa) of St. Bernice, Todd of Clinton and Mathew (Craig) of Ocean Side, CA. One daughter; Amanda (Mike) Babyak of Mecca. Sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Three sisters; Nancy Miller, Paula Vitalie and Marcia Vernon. Several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be at Giovanini Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, 5:00 to 8:00 pm with Rosary at 8:00 PM. Veteran’s Services will be conducted at the funeral home at 6:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sacred Heart Church, Thursday, 11:30 am August 1, 2024, with Fr. Joby Puthussery officiating. Cremation will follow.
