Lois (Peters) Trkula

Lois M. Trkula of Lawton, Michigan, formerly from New Lisbon, Wisconsin and Keeneyville, Illinois. Passed away March 17, 2023 at White Oaks Senior Residence in Lawton, Michigan at age 95.

Lois was born in Elgin, Illinois to Fred and Nellie Peters on March 8, 1928. She was retired from the US Postal Service Payroll department in the North Suburban Postal Facility.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred W. Hultquist in 1984, and her second husband Daniel Trkula October 1, 2020, and 16 of her 19 brothers and sisters, and son-in-law Wayne Savage.

She is survived by seven children: Diane Hultquist, Kathleen (Wayne) Savage, David (Eileen) Hultquist, Fred W. (Kathy) Hultquist, Daniel M. (Carol) Trkula, Timothy A. (Gwen) Hultquist, and Mark A. Trkula; eight grandchildren: Ed (Amy) Hansen, Cori Crawford (Jeff Beaver), Timothy A. Hultquist Jr., Angelo Hultquist (Lucy), Jeremy Hultquist, Jennifer (David) Leith, Thomas (Robyn) Cornish, Gary Trkula (Amanda); nine great-grandchildren: Benjamin Leith, Della Leith, Jordan Treat, McKenna Beaver, Nevaeh Crawford, Chloe Hansen, Camille Hansen, Lilly Hultquist, Michael Hultquist.

Our beloved mother passed away gently on March 17, 2023 with sons Timothy and Mark, and daughter-in-law, Gwen at her side. She was well cared for by the White Oaks staff and Hospice nurse who provided excellent comfort care to ease her passing.

Lois was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at age 75. The doctor told her that with surgery and chemotherapy, she could live another five years. She straightened that doctor out, telling him she was going to live to age 95 like her father and sister! She turned 95 on March 8, the week previous to her passing!

Visitation for Lois will be at Giovanini Funeral Home in Clinton, Indiana, Friday, March, 24, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March, 25, 2023 with Pastor Terry Jeffers officiating.  Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Clinton, Indiana.   Online condolences can be made at www.giovaninifuneralhome.com
